Expandable Rubber Stem Applicator. Size C for 1″ ID Tubing
Casters with expandable rubber applicators are used on rolling equipment with legs made of hollow pipe or tubing. They are designed for use in round tubing, but they work just fine in square tubing, as long as the weight to be hauled on the casters is not greater than (say) 3/4 of the maximum load capacity. The same applicator kits are used with the following SES Caster series: Series 29. Series 39, and Series T39.
Installing casters with expandable rubber applicators is easy. The stem of the caster measures 1/2-13×2-3/4″ threaded.  Over this is placed a plastic spacer, a round rubber applicator and a 1/2″ ID threaded knurled nut at the top. To install this type of caster, the knurled nut should be tightened until the rubber applicator expands to a point where it can be pushed very snugly up into the leg. With this, grab and twist the dust cap on the caster and twist counter-clockwise. Assuming that the rubber applicator is snug enough in the tube, it should expand further in the tube, until the caster is locked tightly in place.
Expandable rubber applicators come in various sizes corresponding to the inside Diameter (ID) of the tubing or pipe into which the caster is to be installed. You need to measure the ID of the tubing very carefully in order to insure that the casters will fit correctly. To measure the ID of the tubing, use calipers (preferably) or a ruler and measure across the inside opening of the tubing as close as possible to the center of the hole. The various sizes available are as follows:

When ordering casters with expandable rubber applicators, please order the number of casters you need, and then order the quantity of applicator kits you need for each size. For instance, it you need 10 pieces of caster X for 3/4″ ID tubing, and 10 pieces of caster X for 1-1/2″ ID tubing, order 20 pieces of the caster, and then order 10 pieces of applicator A and 10 pieces of applicator G. The casters will, of course, be shipped to you with the rubber applicators installed and ready to go.
